Sibylla Deen is an Australian-born actress and filmmaker, raised in Sydney and now based in California. She has appeared in lead roles in Lies We Tell and series including Tyrant (FX), Tut (Spike TV), The Last Ship (TNT) and The I-Land (Netflix), and has written and directed plays, cultivating a deep connection to storytelling across form and medium.
Her bond with horses began in childhood. But it was during a period of illness and personal upheaval that she found herself turning to wild horses, not to photograph them or study them, but simply to be near them. That pull became five years, more than 100 days and a film.
Over that time she moved alongside wild herds in California and Australia, never approaching, always waiting. She learned that the closest thing to belonging is standing beside something that could run and doesn't.
That trust is what this film is built on.
